Download Microsoft Silverlight for Symbian Beta for Nokia 5800, N97 and 5530

Microsoft Silverlight is a cross-browser and cross-platform implementation of the Microsoft .NET Framework for building media experiences and rich interactive applications for the Web on desktop computers. Silverlight is now also available for Symbian S60 5th Edition devices such as Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, N97, N97 Mini, X6, 5230, 5233 and 5530 XpressMusic.

Microsoft Silverlight for Symbian Beta includes a runtime that is optimized to display content on memory-constrained devices. Silverlight support for Symbian S60 5th Edition devices includes:
  1. The ability to view Silverlight applications in the mobile browser.
  2. Tools to build Silverlight applications that target these devices.
When you install this runtime on your mobile It is hosted in the mobile's default browser. Silverlight for Symbian beta will enable you to run Silverlight applications on the Symbian S60 5th Edition platform. Now you can easily visit to any website hosting the Silverlight contents and you will be able to make it working on your mobile. Note: Big disappointment after trying to open Microsoft's Silverlight website http://www.silverlight.net/, the broswer of my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic crashed. Tried multiple times with no luck.
