Download Java Runtime 2.1 Beta for Nokia 5800, N97, X6, N97 Mini and 5530
After Java Runtime 2.0, here is new Java Runtime 2.1 Beta version 2.1.18 for Symbian S60 5th edition mobiles: Nokia 5230, 5233, 5530 XpressMusic, X6, N97, N97 Mini and 5800 XpressMusic. The following S60 5th Edition devices and firmware versions support Java Runtime 2.1 Beta.
The Java Runtime 2.1 Beta requires 4 MB space in your mobile. After installation, it convert the existing MIDlets and conversion of existing MIDlets requires additional disk space. The conversion process may take a while. Do not cancel the conversion as it is required for proper functioning of your Java applications. This process is shown in the following screenshot.
After the installation of Java Runtime 2.1 Beta, one difference you will notice while uninstalling any Java application from your mobile and this difference is the noticable change in the uninstall confirmation dialog as shown in the following screeshot.
With Java Runtime 2.1 Beta, Java applications on your mobile would work more smoother and faster. You can also try it on your mobile and feel the difference. Following is the download link.
